What is the process like?
- We’ll talk about the present: what is troubling you? What are your strengths and successes? What's satisfying? What's frustrating; what feels stagnant?
- We’ll probably talk about your past as it relates to the challenges you are experiencing. We’ll also look to the past for examples of approaches that worked well for you.
- I'll most likely invite you to set goals for the future (next year or next week) and together we'll identify steps you can take to reach them. Through reflection, exploration, and taking action, you’ll be able to look forward to your future with optimism and trust.
This may seem like a lot. Remember that you’ll have my insight, training, and experience supporting you.
One more point: therapy is often thought of as a longer-term process, but sometimes a short series of sessions can be very effective. I am happy to talk with you about what’s best for you.
